What is Visionary Fiction?

To me, visionary isn’t just a label for a genre. It’s a feeling, a kind of magic that sneaks into any story, wherever or whenever it’s set. Visionary fiction, as I see it, is like a gentle nudge from the universe, whispering to us to remember the ancient wisdom tucked away inside each of us. I never want to preach—goodness, who likes that? Instead, I hope to open hearts, to remind us all that we are so much more than we sometimes believe. These stories are little lanterns, shining a light on the endless possibilities within us, and showing that transformation is always just a heartbeat away.

With my Ascension series, I get to play with the idea that life can be truly magical—if only we dare to open the door to new possibilities. Across five stories, I’ve woven together threads of spiritual science, wild visions, and those deliciously mysterious moments that make us stop and say, ‘Wait, did that really just happen?’ There’s a bit of psychic fun, peeks into the unknown, and always a sense of adventure. I’d love for you to come along with me, to step beyond the ordinary and see what wonders we can discover together.

My two novels about the Self-Employed Housewife are especially dear to me, because they’re rooted in real lives and true stories I’ve had the privilege to witness. (My own story ) Naturally, I’ve changed the names and places—privacy is important, after all! But the heart and soul of their journeys are still dancing on every page, just waiting for you to read.

Becoming my own publisher.

When my dearest Robin Beck, my soul mate for 22 years, my publisher, and the love of my life, left this earthly playground, my heart felt as if it had been split open. In those quiet, lonely moments, I found myself talking to the universe, asking for a little nudge, a sign, anything to help me keep going with our soul purpose project. Together, we had set out to write about our Awakening to our ascension, weaving a little magic into visionary fiction.

Oh, what a wild roller coaster my research journey has been! Sometimes I felt like I was hanging upside down, hair flying, as I explored all sorts of beliefs about where we come from, who we really are, and why on earth (quite literally) we choose to incarnate here in the first place.

Back in 2001, I was juggling more hats than a street performer at Kima Global Publishers: book stylist, cover designer, and Robin’s ever-enthusiastic travel buddy as we wandered through book fairs like two kids in a sweet shop. Those were the days of diving deep into Spiritual science, always guided by our shared motto: to make a real difference in people’s lives.

Robin truly was the kindest soul I have ever known. When he crossed over in January 2023, it felt as if my heart had been scattered into a thousand puzzle pieces, and I wasn’t sure I’d ever find them all again. For a while, I thought the best chapters of my life had already been written. But even in the thick fog of grief and all the surprises life threw at me, a gentle, loving voice inside whispered, Nadine, your Soul’s purpose is still calling. Our visionary five-stage novels about the Jaarsma Clan still needed to be finished.

Reflecting on the beautiful dance of duality in our lives and the magic of how we see things, I found myself looking back with a heart full of wonder and gratitude. As I poured my soul into this novel, something miraculous happened: my grief began to lift, little by little, as if the story itself was gently holding my hand, helping me heal and, hopefully, shining a little light for others too.

So, with a hopeful heart, I decided to offer my publications on the Language of Light for donation under the banner of ‘The Power of Words’. Starting in May 2026, this is my little gift to humanity as we step into some challenging times together. Readers will always be able to find both electronic and printed versions of my ‘Awakening to Our Ascension’ novels and workbooks—ready to inspire, uplift, and maybe even bring a smile or two.

Every word of my visionary fiction is a love letter to Robin Beck. Just a month before he left us, he started writing the very first pages of the fifth novel in our Awakening to our ascension series, ‘The Prophet’s Game’. His spirit is woven into every story, and I carry his inspiration with me, like a gentle breeze at my back, every time I sit down to write.
