The Quest for Higher Self: A Spiritual Adventure

Have you ever found yourself staring at the ceiling, wondering, ‘Why on earth was I born now, of all times?’ Maybe you get that little nudge inside, like there’s something important you’re supposed to remember, but it’s just out of reach. And then there’s the big question: can you really believe you have a spiritual body, not just arms and legs and a stubborn mind?

I’ve spent years chasing after the real truth, and let me tell you, it’s quite the adventure.
My curiosity didn’t wait for adulthood to show up. I remember as a little girl, dashing to my bedroom, dropping to my knees beside the bed, and sending up a rather urgent prayer. The grown-ups had filled my head with stories about the end times—very dramatic, very scary—so I took it all quite seriously. I asked Jesus, quite sincerely, to please make sure I wouldn’t be caught napping when the world decided to turn upside down.

At eighteen, I stumbled upon my first Rudolf Steiner book, all about the mysterious elemental kingdom. That was it—the spark was lit! From that moment, I became a bit of a spiritual detective, nose buried in books, heart wide open, always searching for those big answers. Over the years, I just couldn’t get enough of exploring what it means to fully wake up! To become conscious of the unseen world a little further each day. I wanted to know what my purpose was , and how on earth I could actually become a better, kinder, more resilient version of myself.
Somewhere along the way, my inner voice—yes, that wise little whisper—reminded me that I needed to get to know my real self, my higher self. Not just the Nadine who loves a good laugh and a good story, but the deeper, spiritual me. I’ve come to see the science of Spirit as a grand adventure, a quest to figure out who we really are, how this wild world ticks, and where on earth (or beyond) we come from.
For me, spiritual science is like building a bridge between what we can see and touch, and those mysterious inner worlds we feel but can’t quite explain. It’s about being a bit of a cosmic explorer, using both curiosity and a dash of logic to peek behind the curtain of the unseen.

At some point, I realised it wasn’t enough to just read about these things—I had to live them, breathe them, and then share them. That’s when the universe started to look less like a random jumble and more like a grand, evolving story. My own inspiration burst into life during the nineties, and I found myself writing about my awakening through nine fictional characters, each shaped by the Enneagram. Then came the Jaarsma Clan, a lively group of united souls with their own spokesperson, whom I named POWAH. Suddenly, my story had a heartbeat.

Through my novels, I try to weave together the mysteries of spiritual science and the adventures of my characters, who feel like dear companions to me on a shared journey. Each one is searching for their own inner light, and as they fill their journals and find their way along the path of ascension, I hope readers might glimpse a reflection of their own spirit within those pages. Perhaps, in time, the right path will reveal itself.
