Consciousness is not born of the brain, nor is it confined to the head. Rather, it is a vastness that surrounds and permeates us.

The world reveals itself as perception, as we enter the divine field of consciousness. Our brain is like a receiver, like a radio tuning into radio waves.
Through thinking, feeling, and observing, we experience the dance of physical reality, each sense organ—each chakra—serving as a gateway to the sacred.

We touch the divine field of consciousness through our thoughts, feelings, hearing, and observation. Consciousness is not born of the brain, nor is it confined to the head. Rather, it is a vastness that surrounds and permeates us. Rudolf Steiner, too, offered his own vision of this truth.
The physical brain serves as a mirror, reflecting and limiting the light of spirit. To truly behold the spiritual worlds, we may perceive directly, beyond the veil of the senses.

I am deeply moved when he speaks of the chakras as sense organs. Our ordinary waking thoughts and imaginings are anchored in the head, the brain serving as a finely tuned instrument. Yet, to quiet the mind and let the broader currents of spirit flow into clarity, art’s healing touch can work wonders.

Thinking gives birth to concepts and ideas, yet words alone cannot capture the true nature of a concept. Words merely point us toward the concept within us, like signposts along the path.
When a sound reaches me, I listen for the concept that lies behind it. This inner meaning draws me beyond the sound itself. While some may rest content with the surface, I am compelled to seek the cause behind the effect, to journey past the immediate perception and into the deeper source from which it arises.

Inspired by the following lecture by Rudolf Steiner: The Philosophy of Spiritual Activity – The World as Perception
To walk the path toward understanding the spiritual nature of humanity and the Cosmos, we must turn our gaze not only to the many states of consciousness available to us, but also to the ways these states have been transformed through the long journey of human evolution.

Happy reading.
